United Fencing Academy (UFA), established in 2014 in Los Angeles by World Champions Vadim Ayupov and Julia Khakimova, stands out as a premier fencing club. After relocating from Moscow to Los Angeles in 2010 to coach at The Los Angeles International Fencing Center, Vadim and Julia realized their vision by founding UFA in January 2014.

Coaching Excellence & Safety

Every coach at UFA is fully USFA-certified and SafeSport-approved, ensuring the highest standards of safety, ethics, and professional instruction. Combining world-class competitive experience with modern sports science, our coaching staff reliably develops fencers into local, national, and international champions, while guiding student-athletes along a proven pathway to NCAA collegiate fencing recruitment.

Mission

United Fencing Academy provides top-tier fencing instruction for athletes aged 6 and up, welcoming all skill levels from absolute beginners to elite competitors. Through structured group classes and high-yield private lessons, our state-of-the-art facility offers a safe, encouraging environment designed for high-level competitive success as well as lifelong fun and fitness.

Methodology & Training System

UFA utilizes an advanced, dynamic training system that accelerates athlete development while keeping sessions highly engaging. By challenging both mind and body, our proven methodology turns beginners into top-ranked national and international competitors in record time.

Getting Started

Beginners only need a t-shirt, long athletic pants (sweatpants or warm-ups), and lace-up athletic shoes (street shoes and slip-ons are prohibited for safety reasons). UFA provides all necessary fencing equipment for introductory classes, with gear purchasing guidance available at our on-site store.
