Coach Julia

Julia Khakimova started fencing at the age of nine with Victor Khashimov in Polevskoy, Russia. At fourteen, she became the Russian Cadet Champion and joined the Russian National  Foil Team. Under the tutelage of two former Olympic Champions – Anvar Ibragimov and Vladislav Pavlovich, she won numerous National Senior Individual and Team Championships and in 2006 was the European Champion in Women’s Senior Foil. In addition,  Julia won Team Silver at the 2001 and 2007 World Championships and Team Gold at the 2006 World Championships in Torino, Italy. In addition,  Julia is also a World Cup winner and a medalist in the World and European Junior Championships. She earned a Master’s degree in 2004 from the Moscow State Sports Academy.
