Maurizio Zomparelli

 

100000003 largeMaurizio Zomparelli was a member of the Italian National Foil Team from 1982 to 1988. After his fencing career, Maurizio Zomparelli became a world-renown coach and has worked with athletes on the highest level.
From 2004 to 2012, he was responsible for the Physical Conditioning and Training Program of the Italian Olympic Foil Team.
During that period, the Italian Men’s and Women’s Foil Team won countless medals in World Championships, European Championships, World Cups, Universiade Games, GOLD MEDALS in the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008, and ALL THREE MEDALS in the Olympic Games in London 2012.
In 2012, Zomparelli was invited to be the Physical Conditioning Coach and Assistant Coach for the Russian Men’s and Women’s Olympic Foil Teams with two other world-renown Italian coaches, Stefano Cerioni and Giovanni Bortolaso.
Working with the Russian Men’s and Women’s Foil Teams, Zomparelli achieved the highest results for his athletes – first place in the international rankings, gold medals in World Championships, European Championships, World Cups, Universiade Games, and TWO GOLD and BRONZE MEDALS in the Olympic Games in Rio 2016.
For both the Italian and Russian Olympic Foil Teams, Zomparelli was responsible for physical training, rehabilitation and recovery and team/individual physical training program development.
